A Brief History of The Westgate Hotel
The Westgate Hotel was built in 1970 by Developer C. Arnholt Smith. Its decor, design, and architecture were a stylish interpretation of France's Palace of Versailles. At the dedication ceremony, Smith termed the hotel as his contribution to San Diego's journey to be a world-class metropolitan city. 6 years later, the hotel was purchased by Robert Earl Holding and his wife.
The Holdings, who control Grand Hotels and Resorts and The Sinclair Oil Corp., managed to keep Westgate's European Opulence. They later renovated the hotel in 1997, and now, it provides 223 large, tastefully furnished rooms.
In 2016, Expedia named the Westgate Hotel Best of + VIP Access; Money Inc included it among the Top 10 hotels in San Diego, and Trip Advisor granted it an excellence certificate. Its Sunday brunch was also named the greatest brunch in San Diego and ranked first among the Top 10 Diners' Choices, San Diego Magazine, and Open Table Diner's Choice in 2016. It also received a notable American Automobile Association Four Diamond Award for the 9th time that same year.

The Fountain Terrace can hold up to 500 guests for a special event with elegant sunset views and an amazing skyline backdrop. This classy outdoor location sets the scene for a beautiful and joyous wedding celebration.
LE FONTAINEBLEAU
The Le Fontainebleau, a luxurious yet laid-back venue, provides a generously sized indoor setting for wedding banquets and celebrations of various kinds. Up to 200 guests can be accommodated, and there is enough for couples to share their first dance.
